Christmas in Hopelands

12/9/2017 - The 26th Annual Christmas in Hopelands takes place in Hopelands Gardens in Aiken, South Carolina. Christmas in Hopelands is open 6:00pm to 9:30pm December 9, 10, 14-23, and 26. This enchanting walk-through exhibit features over two miles of lighted pathways and holiday displays. There is no admission charge. Over 100,000 twinkling lights are a must-see during the Christmas season. In order to visit Christmas in Hopelands, you must use the shuttle service to the gardens available each night. The shuttles run from Citizens Park, located at 1060 Banks Mill Road, and will pick-up and drop-off visitors continuously from 5:45pm – 8:45 pm (last shuttle to view Christmas in Hopelands leaves Citizens Park at 8:45 pm). Shuttle service is free. No general public parking at Hopelands or Rye Patch. Handicap parking is available at 135 Dupree Place. **There will be no animals allowed on shuttle vehicles. The Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame, The Doll House, and the Rye Patch Stables are open and decorated during Christmas in Hopelands for visitors to enjoy. Complimentary refreshments will be served in the Hall of Fame courtyard and outside of the Guest Cottage. Rye Patch is a destination for fun holiday activities for children. On select nights, Santa or Mrs. Claus will be inside Rye Patch for photos. Be sure to purchase your s’mores kit for $5.00 at Citizens Park before you hop on the shuttle. Once you get to the gardens, head to Rye Patch to roast your marshmallows. Parents must accompany children at all times. Holiday entertainment is provided by local schools, community groups, and church choirs each evening. Spectators should bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on to enjoy the show. Stay tuned for 2017 concert schedule. Christmas in Hopelands is a free event. Donations are appreciated and are used to help support the growth of the program.
